201 – All About…Washington

April 20 @ 7:00 pm

Understanding the State Behind the Bottle

Washington is one of the most dynamic wine regions in the country — and also one of the most misunderstood. At the 201 level, it’s time to move beyond generalizations and explore how Washington wine actually works.

All About Washington Wine is a deeper look at the forces that shape wine across the state: geography, climate, vineyard practices, and the role of AVAs. Rather than treating Washington as a single style, this class breaks the state into its key components, showing how and why wines from different areas taste the way they do.

We’ll focus on why Washington consistently delivers both power and balance, how desert farming and irrigation influence quality, and what makes Washington fundamentally different from California and Oregon.

This class is designed to give you a working understanding of Washington wine — the kind that helps you recognize regional character, make confident buying decisions, and understand why certain grapes thrive here.

🍷 More depth. More contrast. More “aha” moments. Still fun, still approachable.

A few tips prior to class:

⏰ Plan for 3 hours. Given the amount of wine you will drink, and regions you will cover, this class is usually 2.5-3 hours long. Obviously, you are free to leave whenever, but if you don’t want to miss anything, plan for 3 hours.

🥖🥪🍕 Eat before you come to class!

🚕 Plan to have a designated driver or use uber- lyft- friend.

Due to the exclusivity, prepayment is required. Payment is refundable if canceled 24 hours prior to the event.
